🌷 HOW TO PAINT COLOURFUL TULIPS | LOOSE ACRYLIC PAINTING DEMO
A calmer painting session with me, painting a vase of colourful tulips in acrylic.
We are not seeking perfection here.
I’m much more interested in capturing the essence of the flowers — their movement, colour, shape and energy — than carefully describing every petal.
I deliberately use fewer tools, fewer colours and a larger brush. Limitation makes you make decisions. And those decisions are often where your own painting style begins to appear.
For this demo I use my usual simple kit:
🖌️ One large brush
🎨 Acrylics — red, blue, yellow, black + white
✏️ Willow charcoal or pencil
🖼️ Canvas
💧 Water
Watch how I simplify the tulips into shapes, mix my colours from a limited palette and allow imperfect marks to stay.
Less time. Less tools. Less paint. More freedom.
