You can tell its a script from a Chinese Drama when the characters stand and argue non-stop for hours upon hours, and slap each other from time to time in between. 😂😂😂

Lucas is a prime example of people in the higher ups in corporate industry…knows nothing about the process but is there to swiftly take others’ credit and quick to make the underlings pay for his mistakes

" Respect is earned, not demanded" "Abusers don't get to ask for forgiveness"

I do love when anytime she say " I failed as a mother" no one disagrees with her because everyone knows its the truth. 😊

Imagine having your abusive father, who disowned you, demand your invention, and then tell you that you have to compete with your unwanted adopted sibling for your own creation.

That’s God -tier entitlement and delusion.

I loved this male version of the story/trope. It was done so well. The best part of this version is that the male lead actually had FRIENDS that he chose as his family.

They don't know the dining table chair is missing and they don't know the son stays in store room
They all need an eye check up 😂😂😂😂😂

Yeah you failed as a mother you're damn right that you did just like Mr Hawthorne failed as a father so royally. Charlotte pissed me off the whole time but I'm glad that Ethan didn't forgive her. He definitely was done with Victoria too. The friend was right. They should have let Charlotte & Victoria burn years ago so that way Ethan would not have suffered as much.

Lucas was truly greedy.  Ethan did the right thing by leaving the family. The family be going through emotional regret 😂

He gave them biggest slap in the history, they will repent this UpTo their grave what they did to their own brother/son
Best revenge story

“If you aren’t there for me at my worst, you don’t deserve to be with me at my best!”

That family was heartless toward Ethan and yet he thrived to greatness by himself, built a team and an iPhone company that brought about the future!

Thank God...Ethan didnt forgive them, they dont deserve any kindness🤩🤩🤩

The takeaway is: "Cut out toxic people from your life today." Ethan suffered 4 years of physical, mental and emotional abuse, and the day he stood up for himself was him acknowledging his mental health was more important than any toxic relationships with his family, the Hawthornes. Lucas was a bloodsucking leech consumed with envy, and when he was found out, he got his comeuppance. It only takes one bad apple to spoil the whole bunch

Ethan: too late.
4 years too late

Ethan is the Scapegoat child to that Abusive Narcissistic Family.

If it was me and I were Ethan; to completely sever ties I would have legally changed my last name from Hawthorne to another last name; build my company from the ground up and have my parents arrested for abuse and neglect and all he would have to do is show his scars and bruises and tell his story in a court of law. The Hawthorne wealth wouldn't be enough to save his parents from jail time. Think about the publicity...the scandal...The Hawthorne Group would have gone belly up financially and parents in prison; his siblings would have had to run the company and he could have staged a hostile takeover. Best revenge.

39:59 like how his docile colleague went gangsta mode😂😂

Lucas didn't suffer much as ethan who was hurt physically ,humiliated and dis owned  by his own family.

A beautiful story about human nature. A story about the human envy, stupidity and greed and much more. I'm just sorry he didn't find true love. Maybe a sequel....

This was a good movie and I’m glad Ethan refused to go back!
