Jamaicans will succeed everywhere because they are given a wide-ranging education that includes knowledge of other countries and cultures. Also, they are trained to think critically, to hustle, be creative in a crisis, to fear God, and to be their brother's keeper. That is a recipe for success.

We have a very competitive spirit within us that drives us to be better than the next person or die trying. I see in the US whites and others generally have a get over spirit. They want things but they don’t want to work hard for it. They want it easy. But we are not afraid of hard work. It’s a challenge for me. And every part of hard work benefits the entire body. That’s what I know for myself. Whatever you do do it to the best of your abilities. If you are a street sweeper my father use to say be the best street sweeper there is. That’s ingrained in us.
