As a photographer, the biggest news I’ve heard out of WWDC is the version 9 model of Apple‘s RAW processing engine. It’s the whole reason I watched this episode and it didn’t get mentioned.

Disappointed that there was no information on Creator Studio, Pixelmator Pro and how that aligns with Photos? Really wish Apple would bring Aperture back or a pro LRC competitor. This would be a great match with FCP and the other pro apps.

Did they comment on when they expect to get bored of supporting pro photographers again and drop all their pro apps like they did last time?

interesting to hear it’s local Gaussian splat to private inference.  Cool interview.

So, Apple catching up with what other editors can do, Touchretouch, Snapseed etc etc. It'll be interesting to see how it really compares.

Have they added the stunning and revolutionary function of sorting photos by name yet?

In other words, Apple is focused on the most basic consumer needs. Don't expect them to do anything revolutionary for Photography

The industry needs to come up with a new name for whatever these enhanced retouched edited images are - because they’re not photographs. They are manipulated memories, further extension of this curated and manipulated “ everything is perfect “ era.

I wish they they’d move the front camera button away from where you hold the phone.

SynthId is cool, but Apple really really really needs image verification. This image has NOT been changed.

Moved back to iPhone a couple of years ago after 10 years of Samsung devices. One thing that I truly wish apple would do is when you create an album or folder I wish the photos would move from the camera roll to them. Android does this and it means your camera roll is not full of every photo! Such a simple thing to do and drives me crazy as someone that takes a lot of photos.

What Apple did in the past when they dropped Apple aperture and encourage us users to migrate Adobe Lightroom felt like betrayal of trust.

I was very disappointed with Apple when they cancelled aperture and encouraged their users to migrate to Lightroom, Apple‘s aperture is so easy to use and I had its time it was equal to Adobe Lightroom,
I want to see Apple reintroduce a professional version of Apple photos that can do layering and stitching and lens corrections,
Does not matter if it’s called aperture two or pro photos.

Criminal that they just gave up the photo market by killing aperture.
Best photo app and interface yet.

I’m fine with the technology, but I object to the spin. This is not staying true to the original moment. It’s staying competitive with Google. And it reminds me a little of Apple’s argument that the 2x lens isn’t really a crop. Of course it is.

Great interview. Great realtime demos.

What kind of curated, synthetic reality are we being herded into by these people?

Downloading all photos simplified

How about giving us back the option for the old Days view?

Problem-solving - HERE'S an idea - PUBLISH AN ACTUAL MANUAL!!! When you introduce a new piece of HARDWARE, a basic pamphlet is sufficient. But wen you start a new iOS version 26 to 27, PUBLISH THE PDF! or even a softcover book for sale. THEN updates come with updates to the docs.  Hey, WHY NOT? A WHOLE lot of people will get a WHOLE LOT OF USE they never knew they had (and sure alot of people will never READ, but those the DO are able to appreciate your hard work.
