To Mt. Shirouma in the Japanese Northern Alps.

This time, I started from Tsugaike and spent three days backpacking across the Hakuba Three Peaks.

From Tsugaike Nature Park, I hiked via Hakuba Oike and Mt. Korenge to Mt. Shirouma, then continued on to Mt. Shakushi and Mt. Hakuba Yari.

The route was 16.2 mi, with 8,386 ft of elevation gain.

This was my first mountain trip in about three months. I considered bringing a freestanding tent, but decided to take a new tent and pitch it for the first time on this trip.

The itinerary had plenty of extra time built in, so I took things slowly over three days, camping at Hakuba Oike and near the Hakuba Daisekkei Hut.

This video focuses mainly on the sounds, scenery, and time spent along the Hakuba ridgeline.
