Grimm's Fairy Tales in their original form: In the first edition of 1812, it is Snow White's own mother who orders the murder—not her stepmother. This documentary reveals what was truly written in the Brothers Grimm's first collection of fairy tales, why Jacob and Wilhelm Grimm rewrote their texts edition after edition—and in which instances they actually made the fairy tales harsher rather than gentler.

A word about my own work: In the Rapunzel chapter, a small slip of the tongue slipped through during the recording—I said "in ein Wüstenei" instead of the correct "in eine Wüstenei." I meant "Wüstenei," an old word for desolate place or wilderness, pronounced like the word "Träumerei" (reverie)—it has nothing to do with an egg, despite the suspicious sound. I only noticed it during the editing process, and by then it was unfortunately too late to re-record.

Thanks to all the attentive listeners in the comments! In a half-hour spoken text, the language occasionally takes its own liberties – it's nice to know you're listening so closely. Cheers – and keep up the literary spirit.
