The Winter Palace has changed color more than 8 times: initially it was pale yellow (1762), then pink, red, burgundy, gray and even orange. The modern turquoise-blue color with white columns was approved after the WW2 in 1946-1947. So the video is inaccurate.
17:01 The fashion of this era exuded a distinct sense of liberation, while the palaces embraced a minimalist grandeur that stood in sharp contrast to the lavish opulence of other royal courts.
I went there several times when I lived in that city, over 30 years ago. I don’t know when we will be able to visit again - or even if that will ever be possible again.
I'm Russian from St Petersburg, and I'd been to Winter Palace at least 5 times. You can take my word that NONE of these images are from the real Winter Palace, neither inside or outside. It is 3 storeys high and rectangular in shape. It was never green in Imperial Russia, it was YELLOW! Though Nicholas II painted it dark red, like blood, therefore people hated it and called Emperor 'bloody'. Winter Palace is not baroque and old inside.
Last 2 emperors did not live there (there was a dreadful terrorist attack in a small dining room in Winter Palace). So they were scared and lived in the suburbs. In WW1 days Winter Palce served as a hospital for wounded Russian soldiers. And after October 1917 Revolution the Palace was very badly looted. The scum even defecated into antique Chinese vases. Communists turned it into a cold soulless Socialist museum of art. Winter Palace has lost its soul. But it's still very beautiful, impressive and fascinating place to visit. Please do! 😊 everyone is welcome.
THANK YOU DEAR SIR ❤😊❤ IT WAS ANOTHER WORLD, AT ANOTHER TIME....... THE HUGE PALACE WAS INDEED SYMBOL OF THAT WORLD WHERE THERE ARE LAYERS OF HUMANITY..... BASIC TRUTH? THAT THE POWER ON TOP IS HELD UP BY THE SERVICE OF HUMANITY BELOW. STRANGELY BIZARRE IS THAT THE SERVANTS WHO HAD QUARTERS ON THE ATTIC WERE THERE AS ITS OWN COMMUNITY, EVEN TO HAVE SNUCK A COW, HOW REAL ABOUT LIFE'S "NECESSITY" '&: THE PRACTICAL NEED OF POOR FAMILY.
I personally knew a guy who was at the Winter Palace, He lived there! He was the son of a female , who was a member of a armed guard unit. The revolution started there when he was a boy. His mother fled. Eventually he ended up in California. Yes there was a all female armed guard unit at the Winter Palace.
It’s fascinating to imagine how grand and lonely life must have felt inside the Winter Palace during the Romanov era. Behind all that luxury, there were probably so many untold routines, rules, and emotions hidden beneath the surface. What part of life in the palace do you think was the most surprising?
Despite my overall hatred of AI and the abuse of it, I also am a professional in education, especially in the arts, and if used correctly meaning creativity in the human part of the creation is still present and is the leading source and reason for the material and the AI is only used as a tool to enhance the art in storytelling in a way that educates and celebrates the past or present in ways, we never could replicate to this day then I actually am an advocate for that kind of AI. This channel seems to be doing just that and I like so much how transparent and open the introduction is about this channels use of AI in an entertaining and educational tool to depict actual intelligent human research and human created storytelling not ChatGPT scripts and half done animations with barely any editing and a feeling of relying on the AI instead of using it for enhancement only. I feel like in very different ways but yet in the similar sense, the use of AI and who and how it is perceived and controlled in the future is very parallel to nuclear power in the sense that it can revolutionize and better society by leaps and bounds, but it can also destroy us than one generation. Say it with me now with great power comes great responsibility… At least this channel understands that.
A palace can be too big and this one certainly is! Wasn't Queen Elizabeth II who said," Always use the bathroom when it's offered and sit down whenever you can" I don't know for sure that is true but it's a good idea if you are Royal. Here you weren't allowed to sit down and you had to walk what must have seen like miles to get to anything. It's beautiful but just TOO big! 1000 people to dinner? NO WAY!
AI is clever, but not one of the rooms depicted in the vlog is the interior of The Winter Palace, neither is the exterior. The vlog looks good but it isn't The Winter Palace
