We all get those days Phil, I think even though they’re shit at the time it makes you appreciate the good days even more, it’s been a diabolical summer and autumn, a total lack of water leading to low oxygen, I’m praying 🙏 for a mild wet winter.

As a novice, this is a pretty normal day for me. 😀 Four outings to 4 different lakes and I've only managed to catch 1 rainbow.

It's never good on the day but on reflection it's a reality check, they never do what we expect, we adapt and they still don't respond, if it was easy we'd probably get fed up and enjoy it a lot less.

I feel your pain! I was out today and literally only had a couple of tugs!! Tried just about everything i could think off, but to no avail.
I guess that’s why it’s called fishing and not catching 😂

Fished today flat calm trout rising, buggers wouldn’t take dries . Went over to a slow intermediate apps worm caught 5

Only been to Ellerdine once since it reopened for the year. It was tough that day, and other decent anglers struggled and had struggled on previous days. Tough to do, but loads of weed needs removing. It's a bit disappointing as normally by now it should be fishing well.
