I would rather see a janky looking thumbnail that a person put together themselves over one generated with AI prompting.

I still continue making beats no matter how saturated things get Most of my new beats are on Airbit and on this channel.

Psyop is definitely a thing going on to demoralize us, always have to be honest. Thanks DJ Pain 1 for being a motivator a light in these dark times. Been here since you started taking CashmoneyAP's advice and doing a beat a day on youtube. Happy to see you still here and providing value.

Hard not to get depressed by all of this shit sometimes but I’m trying to stay strong. Shit is frustrating it’s always something.

YouTube TV changed YouTube. They no longer needed the creators for profit.

The First two tracks from Drake’s album “ICEMAN” came from BeatStars according to Their instagram post

appreciate this bro. it’s been really tricky trying to figure out whether this is still a viable route to go down. still dunno, but you’ve done so well to sum up the state of play at the moment

Youre correct about 2020 being the best time to do business in music or anywhere at that.

Thanks for addressing this and providing clarity and inspiration.

Great episode! 🔥

It’s a few things that contribute to why music/artistic work has issues on YouTube. Entertainment rpm is 1-9 dollars in tier 1 countries and 1-4 globally. (Just rough estimates) it’s among the lowest paying fields. Compared to a finance/investing that can reach 5-40+ rpm.

Generally things like beats are way under the 8 minute requirement for mid roll ads. Then the copyright system gets manipulated in various ways.

larger labels striking common chord progressions, artists/producers forgetting to whitelist tracks, and ai flooding the platform to mimic and claim the revenue from legitimate artists. There’s more, but I’ll just say I don’t think beats are dead on YouTube. It just isn’t a priority for them compared to other subjects that has higher watch time, keeping them on the platform, higher ad rates and less risk with how volatile copyright with music is.

2020 Beat sales were insane, it's definitely more of a grind now, I was talking with a artist about a custom beat and they were trying to decide wether they wanted me to make a custom beat for $300 or have suno do it for cheaper, I'm like man, at this point, it's definitely only for the truly passionate, thanks for the insight, bless!

If someone steels the beat using something like audio hijack where the computer records the internal sound at the highest quality, and then feeds that into their ai and makes some slop music with it, how do i find out and get their s taken down?

Wow I get the point kill every dream I have just a waste of time  why did I go to college for something everyone thinks they can do off a phone smh

I've been working on building my own website to create my own ecosystem and not depend on outside forces.
There's something in the air and it feels off (to me)
I honestly miss the 2017 days when I just started uploading to youtube, cause there are days when I feel the need to push the needle a little more, but can't due to an certain expectation for you to sound.

Now with A.I lurking the need to try more things out the box is getting stronger, at least for me.
I feel your taste as a music producer is going to matter more. Time will tell!

I've been thinking, Since ProducerTube beef content tends to get decent algo support, Why don't production channels link up and create a beat battle show?  They could each build a roster from producers in their communities and compete as team leaders.  It'd be kinda like returning to local beat battling scenes but online.  It'd also be a great way to increase viewership, unite the hyper-factionalized production space a bit and fight against Ai, Since Ai can't compete with community.

I didn't know you was from Milwaukee. I'm from there too.
