How crazy that despite the fact that we Gen X lived in different places we all had the same universal ferral experiences 😂😂😂 growing up

My Dad’s response to dumb things we did: “Not gonna do that again, are you?”
😂

This is SO Gen X. We're never going out of business!

They call it childhood trauma, we call it the best times of our lives. We simply didn't know how good we had it!

She forgot that the Gen X version of Day Care was the lawn in the neighborhood where all the bikes were... LOL 🤣

This wasn't a comedy routine.  This was a fact based history lesson of actual events.  👍🇺🇲

Elder Gen Xer here, 1967, and she forgot how eventually the major networks stepped up to remind our parents that they had kids. Remember the PSA : "... ITS 10 O'CLOCK, DO YOU KNOW WHERE YOUR KIDS ARE?"  Kills me everytime I think about it. 😂😂😂

Can confirm that her observations about Gen X are spot on. We were feral, but by George we could MacGyver ourselves out of difficult situations faster than any other generation. We learned old school style - try until you succeed or until you get a chance to run.

My favorite line from my boomer parents was "your arm is not broken, it's just bent:

Gen X-- We rode in the back of the pickup with  the dogs. Beer can in dads lap.

Gen X, born in 71.

I died once. My mother made me walk it off.

Gen-X here. Very much spot on.  At age 15, my parents took a 2-week vacation to Europe and left me in charge of my brother. Yes, mom had precooked/frozen all our meals for the duration, the neighbors would check up on us daily (plus we were in school), and all that jazz. But my buddies and I still talk about that weekend party to this day.

"Nobody came to our athletic practices" no, not even to pick us up afterwards.

Oh my God, this woman is describing my whole childhood.I love her

always remember had a truely horrifying(for an 8 year old) feral gen x adventure that ended with me in tears at the back door, covered in mud and scratches, my mum was at first concerned, but as i went through the litany of horrors that had befallen me, she eventually burst out laughing and couldn’t stop. She got herself under control, told me that was ‘quite the adventure’. Have nevr forgotten her laughter, it was just what i needed, though at the time, it didn’t feel great. ❤️ miss you mum!

She is hilarious.  My son is GEN X and he swears that all of this is true.  I plead the 5th.

As Gen-X - I have never felt more seen (which is the exact opposite of my childhood).

"Did I forget anyone?"  "Gen X!"  Sums up that generation perfectly.

She forgot the large Jawbreakers and gobstoppers.

I’m gen x from Asia and had the same experience lol. Same is true worldwide. We are the generation that will never go out of business.
