What did you guys think of Separate Ways?

she did ALL of this. In freaking Heels. Insane LOL

The fact that seperate ways is longer than re3 remake shows how much deep they dived for ada's character arc and also shows how much rushed re3 remake was

One of the best things about the DLC is actually getting to see Ada’s arc even if it’s subtle. Great vid

Just like the base game, Separate Ways remake does every single little thing better than it’s original counterpart(IMO). Such a fantastic game that can honestly stand on its own. The story, characters, soundtrack, gameplay, atmosphere, etc. all done so incredibly well. Definitely the best dlc Resident Evil has had so far. Great video as always and I wanna point out what an especially nice job you did with analyzing Ada’s character and her arc

A small and usually overlooked detail. That El Gigante Ada fought and killed was about to attack and probably demolish the sieged villa which Leon, Luis and Ashley trapped in. El Gigante was moving there but encountered Ada instead. When the fight starts, Ada said "hey big guy, I cannot let you go in that way".

So, Ada prevented El Gigante and saved them all again (saved both Luis and Leon second time, Ashley first time).

You probably missed this detail.  Enyoy. 😃Love Ada. 👠💋❤

our girl needs her own game. really enjoyed the dlc.

Separate Ways is brilliant because it recontextualizes a survival horror into a pseudo spy thriller without drastically altering the plot and setting. Combining medieval occultism with modern espionage to make an original spy drama perfectly set abroad, something that’s yet to be done since.

The original sets the stage for Ada’s melodrama re-introducing her as a mystique and charming international spy. While the Remake doubles down on her role as a superspy and further homages the 2000’s spy genre.

Furthermore Ada’s mission is actually the main narrative, as the story is actually about Las Plagas becoming the next deterrent in the bioweapons industry. Los Illuminados and Saddler’s plan were inferior to Wesker, the Organization and the overall industry who wanted control over Las Plagas for redistribution in lieu of Umbrella’s downfall. Ashley’s kidnapping is just a ploy to set off Saddler’s agenda which brought Las Plagas onto an even playing field. So the story low key shifts from an occult ritual into a power struggle as each party is fighting over the Sample. Osmund to control his cult, Wesker to enact for his own genesis, Krauser to shift control over the industry from Wesker, and Ada who understood the parasite’s true potential as doomsday level event in the wrong hands; choosing to withhold it from the overall industry.

Los Plagas was a legendary bioweapon that Umbrella could never remanufacture or weaponize before the company collapsed. Ada ensured that it would never become the next deterrent in bioweapons.

Come to think of it, RE2 and RE4 Leon's boss fights ended the same way: with Ada tossing Leon a rocket launcher.
I think I have an idea who Leon married in RE9, and I wonder what we'd be seeing Ada toss this time.

Btw I think ppls view of Ada bring cold & detached is false. All her betrayals are likely what keep Leon alive & breathing! Because IF Ada doesn't keep up the pretense of being cold towards Leon someone like Wesker would put a hole in Leon that would likely end him!

Ada isn't per-se a cold blooded villain either i would say she has LEGIT feelings for Leon which has been hinted at in Resident Evil Damnation! After RE6... I think Leon & Ada likely have an on & off relationship possibly nights or weekends every so often!

Just an FYI the "Black robe" is called Verdugo!

Ada is my favourite RE character of all time, I hope one day we get Adas origins and how she became the way she is, her training and early life. That would be so cool to me.

I really like this vid, and separate ways ofc!

She is so iconic

It’s so cool to see more of this world from a different perspective. Usually in games, the entire experience is condensed into one character and the dlc rarely brings the original character back into the narrative, but seeing Leon in Separate Ways always made it seem more cohesive for me. I also loved how it built on their relationship, too. It made her motives way more apparent and personal. Really great job on this video! Always looking forward to the next.

I really cant wait for resident evil 5 remake. Please capcom. Don't let us down with re 5

I think I played this dlc more than the main game. Loved it.

I LOVE Ada's design is SO good 😭

I liked the addition of Ada Wong being infected by a Plagas.

Before in Raccoon City - she wasn’t in such existential mortal peril as she was in Spain.

Resident evil 4 remake separate ways feel like a second game and the black robe being the former house keeper name pesanta

Hell yeah, new video game essay dropped to listen to while doing chores

I have about 100 hours in RE4 remake, and Seperate Ways has so many small details that exist for no reason that just push the quality to the next level. Being able to grapple back up to the church and being able hear Ashley crying plus the knife fight and Luis getting louder after B2 are just so good
