I'm a hospice nurse and I carry the following in my scrubs and lab coat...
1. Wrist Watch (To check time and vital signs.) 2. Pen 3. Cellphone 4. Wallet 5. A large pencil (The one for kids. Why? Because I visit some of the dangerous areas at times and I don't want to carry any of my pocket knives.) 6. Keys with a multitool. 7. Sometimes I carry pepper spray if I have enough room in my person (usually my jackets would do the trick).
In my visit bag, I have my vital sign equipment, PPE, disinfectant wipes, surgery scissors, name tags (for all my agencies) and more for my patients. My pencil case (which has my other pens, pencils, sharpener, and highlighters), company tablet (to write nurses notes), notebook/s, binder paper, and other books (when I'm on break for leisure times) are in my backpack.
As a fellow healthcare worker that’s into EDC I love seeing what others carry. Though I work in a hospital setting so I’m used to a slightly higher level of acuity. Especially because I’m in L&D 😅
I'd argue that you need a lot more for home care. Im a therapist and i like to make sure i have everything i could possibly need. I also make sure i have some basic tools as well to fix adaptive equipment, tighten hand rails for safety. I have a pocket edc to supplement my home care bag. My pouch i also use for SNF and an aduly day program that i work in as well.
I'm an RN in a hospital setting. I have the same stethoscope and had the same light lol. I changed the light to a Streamlight MicroStream rechargeable light about 6-months ago. Subbed!
