Q: When did you visit El Salvador?

A: May 2025

Q: How long was the trip?

A: 5 days / 6 nights

Q: Did you feel safe as a female traveler?

A: 7/10 Yes,  I felt especailly safe in El Tunco since the area is mostly tourims & laidback surf. Driving on the roads there would be challenging as an outsider but no problem if you’re used to driving in other countries. Overall, every single person I met was extremely kind.

Q: Was this trip hosted?

A: Yes, in partnership with Visit El Salvador - the Tourism Board

Q: Do you need a guide for hikes like Santa Ana or Tamanique?

A: Santa Ana requires a guide that you can join any group the day you show up. Tamanique Waterfall can be done solo. I had a guide for each.

Q: Can you get around without speaking Spanish?

A: It helps to know a few basics, but most locals were incredibly kind and patient!
