A 7-year-old girl calls 911 during a frightening incident involving her mother — and that call becomes a key piece of evidence during an emotional hearing before Judge West.
The defendant was already on probation for evading arrest when he was charged with assault with a deadly weapon involving his girlfriend.
According to testimony presented in court, the incident occurred in front of the woman's 7-year-old daughter. The child called 911, and responding officers testified about what they encountered when they arrived.
During the hearing, Judge West hears testimony from the 911 operator and responding officer. The court also hears the 911 recording and reviews police body-camera footage from the scene.
Then the defense calls the alleged victim herself.
Despite what prosecutors allege happened, she tells the court that she does not want the defendant sent to prison and expresses frustration that the case was prosecuted.
The defendant also addresses the court before both sides make their final arguments.
After considering the testimony and evidence presented, Judge West revokes his probation and sentences him to six years in prison, with a concurrent six-year sentence on the new case.
Watch the full hearing to hear the testimony, evidence and Judge West's final decision.
