Confronting South Africa's Millionaire Preacher | Reggie Yates Extreme

Real Stories

Reggie Yates concludes his travels around South African communities by spending a week with Prophet Mboro - a charismatic yet controversial church leader who is adored by his thousands of followers, and renowned as much for his dancing as he is for the `miracles' he performs. Boasting a collection of expensive cars and wearing an array of jewellery, Mboro has emerged a millionaire from the boom in Pentecostal `mega-churches'. The former BBC Radio DJ asks if Mboro can possibly be a messenger from God and confronts some home truths when recalling the time he rejected the African Pentecostal faith.

There are three sets of people you can't advise.
1. A woman in love
2. A man with money
3. An African woman that loves her Pastor

If my pastor had armed bodyguards, owns 30 luxury cars and multiple homes, he's running a business, not a church.

“I used to go to church in the UK, the church never had a Sales Department “ 🙌🏿 my best line

Reggie's facial expressions through out the documentary were to die for🤣. He is hands down the best documentarian ever.

It seems like the people are praising him more than they're praising God. Rather strange and eerie

"My house will be called a house of prayer. But you have turned it into a den of robbers"

Is anyone going to mention how brave his camera crew is for sticking by him through all these scary moments?
These guys need a raise.

As a South african, I really enjoy Reggie's South African documentaries. He has such a talent for speaking with people in such a respectful manner even if he disagrees with someone.

Surrounded by men with guns indicates where the Pastor's faith and trust lie.

As a Christian I respect Reggie for respecting Jesus in such a way that he finds it insulting to fake pray or use His name for something he wouldn't mean. More real than most people

Wow as a South African I never realized the scale at which people are being scammed. This was very informative.

Just need ONE documentary by Reggie to get me hooked... Extremely objective. So refreshing.

Hosea 4:6 “My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge"

Ever since this pandemic has started... these so-called prophets who perform miracles have been very quiet. Why don’t they use their powers to heal the world from Covid-19, just saying!!

For someone who “doesn’t like arrogance” he’s very arrogant himself.

This young man is such a good person and you can tell h has a good heart.

Don't be so shocked, these types of pastors can be found in the USA.

Someone in the comments said already this but I'm going to post this again: "My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge..." Hosea 4:6

"Be aware of false prophets." I believe that's in the Bible.

It was so interesting to watch Reggie Yates interacting with Mboro. To see how Mboro was trying to use the build break build technique on Reggie. Near the end I saw Reggie starting to feel bad. Mboro brings him back on stage, build him again. That's how these guys keep their people in check. It's sickening.
