Grosvenor House Hotel, Great Room, Mayfair, London. November 14th, 2019.
British Music Heritage Foundation annual dinner. 500 guests. 9:42 PM.
Keith Richards' Telecaster on a stand in the corner. Heritage display. Just sitting there.
Oliver Chen, events assistant, took half a step toward the stand.
Two people nearby made a brief sound.
The gentle, not-unfriendly amusement of: of course he is.
Oliver did not complete the half-step.
Mick Jagger, from across the room, had already started moving.
He didn't get there before it started.
Four minutes and twenty seconds later, the corner was quiet.
Mick Jagger looked at the man with the silver-white hair.
"Don't go yet."
