During his visit to Nabatieh today, Lebanese Prime Minister Nawaf Salam announced the launch of 23 tenders for projects to support the region. He emphasized that the scale of the crisis in the south exceeds the capabilities of the Lebanese state and pledged to exert every effort to revive it.

The projects in the Nabatieh district include, among other things, removing obstacles, repairing roads, rehabilitating shelters, and providing ambulances and medical equipment.

In his speech, Salam said, "State institutions and agencies are returning to work," adding, "We will do everything in our power to revive southern Lebanon."

He stressed the importance of "mobilizing all available resources and support to achieve a complete Israeli withdrawal and to rebuild the state—a capable and effective state, a unified state for all its citizens, with one army and one decision, especially regarding war and peace."

He affirmed that "the true guarantee before us is to move forward with a complete Israeli withdrawal and the building of the state."

Salam is accompanied by a ministerial delegation on the visit, which includes several security and government buildings in Nabatieh.

A Sky News Arabia correspondent reported that the tour's program includes laying the foundation stone for the reconstruction of the Civil Defense building, which was destroyed in a previous Israeli airstrike, as well as inaugurating the Nabatieh Municipal Council building and delivering a speech there.

In a speech before the Lebanese Parliament in mid-September, Salam indicated that the cost to Lebanon of the two recent wars between Israel and Hezbollah since October 2013 could exceed $27 billion, according to World Bank estimates.
