Gospel: Luke 11:5-13
At that time, Jesus said to his disciples: 5“If one of you has a friend and goes to him at midnight and says to him, ‘Friend, lend me three loaves of bread, 6because a friend of mine has arrived from a journey, and I have nothing to offer him,’ 7and if the other answers from inside, ‘Do not bother me! The door is already locked, and my children and I are in bed; I cannot get up to give you the bread,’ 8I tell you, even if the other does not get up to give it because it is his Friend, get up at least because of his persistence and give him whatever he needs. 9Therefore I tell you, ask and you will receive; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. 10For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened. 11Which of you fathers, if your son asks for a fish, will give him a snake instead? 12Or if he asks for an egg, will give him a scorpion? 13If you then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him!” – The word of salvation.
