When you think about it, a Mazda and a Peugeot fighting for the lead in the world's fastest car race is completely and utterly bonkers.

The fact that Mazda fought for the lead, even if it was just for a few laps, it's epic and honorable. Their car was not only slower than Peugeot and Toyota, it was also built with an outdated Jaguar chassis and an engine they barely knew. Despite everything, they defended their crown with dignity.

A respectable result for Mazda considering they were forced to defend their crown with a Judd powered Jaguar.

Unfortunately the last post said "respectable" Mazda results  ! wow R-U lost here !  the Mazda "R" program was met with unusual last minute rule changes every year of there program  ! what we have here is a complete reset of the European sports cars series with major factory INFLUENCE  ! history see's a complete legal FIA approved factory team out date not just one factory but all of them , can you imagine the cost to catch up and develop a rotary program  ! PURE racing's DNA is to beat your competition every Sunday period  !  the Mazda program scared the sports car world political agenda, really it was we can't pay this amount of money to catch Mazda's technology  !
very sad the program was killed by FIA Nazi's,  also Groupe C was dumped a few years later ! isn't motorsport's about using everything you have at it's best on that day !?
