Check out my review for Brain Lord on the SNES! The Action RPG/Adventure entry by Produce!

BTW, was pointed out in the comments: I legit always read the name in my brain as Reemer instead of Remeer. I have been Mandela effect'd somewhere along the way!

Brainlord review in 2025, wow this is great! I have fond memories of renting this in the 90's. Great OST, awesome items and puzzles. One of my all time fav games, literally top 10. Glad to see folks still playing this title. :) Edit : You just made my day, thanks much ☺️

Woah Toronto, did you feel at home?

You really nailed it with this review. I agree with most of the stuff you brought up, good and bad. The slowdowns I thought were def the most frustrating with the game.

And I never knew about the spell you can use in the dark zone haha. Good to know.

Brain Lord is a good snes game but has annoying unnecessary flaws. Idk if I would give it the grade you gave it, but I’ll Prby give it like a 7/10

Yess, the soundtrack.

It's cool you picked up on the Remeer thing. Mystic Ark is a spiritual sequel to Elnard/7th Saga and a major character in that game is named Lemele or Remere in Japanese as well. They also have a huge thing for "Ark" as a name as in Mystic Ark, and Ark is also the protagonist of Terranigma, and Ark also the protagonist of Jyutei Senki.

Good game. Just played through it. It didn't seem like there was any place to spend my money, especially after halfway through the game after the Toronto shop upgrades. Also, the last boss was a complete pushover. I did enjoy the puzzles except for the 2 that you mentioned in the last 2 dungeons. Maybe with a bit more polish, this game could have got a bit more love, which it certainly deserves.
