I loved seeing all your pieces at the fair! Congrats on all of your ribbons and Allison’s too! We definitely should’ve coordinated our moon phase pieces into different categories, but I’m proud they took first and second!

I have a one year old and recently decided to give myself 30 minutes of stitching in the morning before everyone wakes up. It has been fantastic! Really helping to start my morning slow, do what I like, and just have a minute to myself. I’m not particularly a morning person but I wake up to do what I love and it’s helped my days be better. Maybe give it a try. Like you said, even if it’s only a couple of stitches you created something FIRST!

Yay for your ribbons. 🎉
I love that you enter things - regardless of whether you think they'll win. Sometimes we're too critical of our own work 😊
And it's also inspiring to see smaller pieces do well, and know that it doesn't have to be huge pieces, with expensive framing, which ribbon.
TBH, next year, I'd take the kids to the fair, and let them enjoy it.
Then drive back down, another day, with a stitchy friend to see the exhibition hall properly. Leaving the kids with your co-parent or Mom.
We deserve some adult time to fill our creative cup as well.

Oh man, that baby kitten adores you! I love that you think of the hair as a community and not a competition. I think that is key!

Heyyyy I recognize a couple of those pieces! I went on the 26th and naturally went to look at all the cross stitching pieces I could find :) I knew I had to be looking at some items from fellow stitchy people I had met on IG and YT, so cool!

Welcome to the cat mom life. They are their own bosses 😂 it’s cute hearing him in the background.

Does he let you stitch? Stitching is my cats fav hobby too 😂❤

Congratulations!!! All your pieces are beautiful. I love your coffee and eggs piece. It was good to see Allison’s Lady of the Flag again. I haven’t posted my state fair entries yet. I did well but the one piece I thought would do well didn’t even get honorable mention. It was Inspired by Nature by Quaint Rose Needlearts . I thought the different techniques would help it. But my main reason is to promote Needlearts!
