I'm glad to see that I'm not the only one with GAS 😂😂😂

Thanks for all these vidoes, Jimmy. I know you've put a lot of time and effort into giving back to the photo community, a big thanks from us all! (BTW - I'm down here in Seattle sharing that rain with you.)

There is no plastic in v iii, but there is in the Canada versions of v iv.

love the ending verdict! Thanks for another awesome video.

I had a 7-element, but ended up keeping an 8-element as my only 35/2; I really like the infinity lock and the design. IQ wise all are fine lenses

2025년 새해를 맞이하여 올해에도 멋진 리뷰를 기대하겠습니다. 일반 사용자는 이정도까지 수집을 못하는데 이런 리뷰를 보는 것도 좋습니다.

The video I didn't know I needed the most

Thanks for putting together a great video.  I really enjoyed your thoughts on the different versions and found it to be balanced and fair.  The insight about the Leica lenses getting “bigger” seems spot on.  Thankfully, there are great models that have already been produced so there is still the option to use smaller, yet wonderful lenses.

I'm very happy with the balance you achieve with your videos. I don't see any agenda bias one way or another (Leica v Voigtlander). You make observations about Leica and proceed to Voigtlander for those seeking value for money spent. I  just can't get into Typoch because of all those holes in the lens barrel (long term ingress of dust). I prefer Japan made over Chinese but that is free-will choice.

Just what I needed! Just sold my goggled M3 version of summaron 35 and is looking for a replacement! Great video!

Thanks for the comparison video, Jimmy! Amazing collection you have ❤

好棒的說明，謝謝！

Please do the Mandler lens!

With the number of lenses imitating, copying, and paying homage to the 35mm 1.4, I'd love to see a video on all of those! It's starting to get difficult to keep an overview of them and how they compare to one another

What a collection!!!😮great vid :)

Jimmy, one correction regarding the APO Summicron. Leice produced at least one other M-mount lenses with close focusing before it, which is the WATE from 2006. It has the same greyed out distance scale.

Love this video and looking forward for the next episode! I have a question regarding exif info or how you keeping track of len information in the Leica M system. I recently went through an exercise of finding an EDC 35mm lens, but I quickly realized I couldn't keep track of which lens I was using. 6-bit coding helps a little, but only the most modern lens has encoding. I also tried exif-tool but couldn't get it to work. Do you have a system for keeping track? I would love to see how you do it.

Thanks

Thank you sir! You are providing an invaluable knowledge to us Leica shooters! Keep up the great work! Look forward to your next video.

Enjoyed this one a lot. I very much agree re. the 35mm f/2.8 Summaron. I have three of them: one for my M10 Monochrom; one for my M6 and a "glasses" version for my M3.

My favorite of the modern 35mms is the f/2.4 Summarit. It does the sharp & contrasty ASPH thing but in a more compact package than the ASPH Summicrons.
