Long before the sold-out stadiums, chart-topping albums, and one of the most famous sibling rivalries in rock history, Noel and Liam Gallagher were two brothers growing up on a council estate in Burnage, South Manchester.
This documentary explores the origins of Oasis, following the childhoods of Noel, Liam, and their older brother Paul Gallagher. From an abusive home life and the determination of their mother Peggy, to Noel discovering songwriting, Liam finding his voice, and the formation of The Rain, this is the story of how one of Britain's greatest bands began.
Featuring the people, places and moments that shaped their lives, we trace Noel's years as a roadie for Inspiral Carpets, the influences that defined his songwriting, the emergence of Manchester's music scene, the first tensions within the band, including those involving drummer Tony McCarroll, and the events that led to Noel joining The Rain, transforming it into Oasis.
The episode concludes with the band's earliest rehearsals and first performance, setting the stage for the remarkable rise that would soon change British music forever.
This is Part One of an in-depth documentary series chronicling the complete story of Oasis—from their earliest beginnings to global superstardom, the years of conflict and separation, and their eventual reunion.
