You can have my BC Rich warlock when you pry it from my cold dead hands

Very good point mentioning the beginner-related disadvantages of vintage Strat-Style bridges. I know from personal experience that many beginning guitar students just have a hard whack at the bridge arm, do not hear the instrument gets out of tune, and just keep on playing. Then I tell them to please not use the Trembar, and they ask why it has been put on the guitar in the first place. Quite frustrating, actually.

Glad to see that hardtails didn't make the list 😄

On the (vintage) Strat-style bridge, on my very first guitar lesson my teacher snipped all my strings and then spent an hour teaching me everything about tuning, action, intonation, backspring tension, all that jazz. Yea, it's a bit of a hassle but a good setup is essential, especially for a beginner, so might as well get through it from the get go. The tedious stuff is just part of the game. Probably the most important lesson he gave me.

I have a two point one with modern block saddles though. Far more comfortable overall. All that "vintage" stuff is hype anyway.

Probably your worst nightmare would be the Fernandez ZO-3 Nomad battery operated travel guitar with a built- in amplifier. 3 of the things you hate in 1 guitar.

I'll never get sick of the P-38 in the background (right side of the screen).

I am really tired of that vintage alpine white Les Paul Custom with gold hardware that isn't in my music room.

Happy Belated Birthday 🥳

The thing with a bolt-on neck is that if it uses screws like most do, eventually the wood will start to wear out and not hold tightly and need work. There are guitars that have inserts in the body and use machine screws which is a much better design. That would have the longevity for repeated removal of the neck. Probably can modify any bolt-on for this. I am considering it. Thanks for the videos.

As a kid in the 80s , I had a clear Swatch . I just saw a JEM that was clear on Masters of Shred with Diablos guitars

I use middle pick-ups 90% of my blues/hard rock/jazz playing, they sound amazing and most balanced.

If I remember correctly, the second pickup on the NightSwan was just for show. Somewhere out there is Viv saying he just screwed it all the way down to keep it out of the way. Remember, this was the 80s, you had to be seen hot rodding your superstrat differently from the next guy.

As far as the old clunky strat bridge ,just take out and throw in the Vega trem. Great bridge

I agree with your point about old style strat bridges on beginner guitars. They should just make them all hard tail since learning the trem comes later on anyway and it would be less discouraging for beginners. I also think that all the gimmicky stuff won't matter in the future. It's all going to end up forgotten in a closet, attic, or under the bed gathering dust.

On the vintage bridge, you could say the same about a Floyd Rose. It is tricky to setup.

I did the same taking a guitar to Malaysia from the uk. I put cable ties around the neck to hold the string in place and stop them unwinding from the machine heads

I'll do you one better than the vintage style fender trem. The vintage fender style trussrod adjustment that you have to pop the neck off to access. That is a design that should have gone the way of the dinosaur decades ago.

I always learn something new from your vids, Max!!  🎸🎸

Mr. Max, my dude! Happy belated birthday man! Good to see you once again. Rock on, Max, rock on!🤘😝🤘❣️🎸❣️

Those Kramer Quad rails are severely under rated. I had a set that I had wired into a Samick Silvertone Les Paul, with coil taps, and it sounded INCREDIBLE on ANY genre music I played. Maybe it was the set I had, maybe it was the way it was wired, but man o man, did it sound incredible. I wouldn't write those off. Maybe grab another set, and try a couple of different wiring schemes.
