One more effective tool for better defense is Frailty on hit.

Each stack causes the enemy to deal 6% less damage. At 3 stacks, this totals 18% less damage.
It reduces all damage types dealt by enemies, including melee hits, spell attacks, and damage over time effects.
Each stack lasts for 4 seconds before expiring.

Very easy to get either inside a skill tree or one piece of gear. Not much % is needed because it caps at 3 stacks fast

A correction: we have a stat: armor applies to "damage over time", it's effective!

Many thanks for this, mate. I started playing 8 days ago and reached corruption 600, learned the game by myself without any guides until yesterday...HOWEVER, things are getting hard now and I have a lot to learn, your channel is being one of the best places for that! ❤

Great Guide! Maybe you could add a Section about Frailty and Blind onto the written Guide, to have each available Option. :) Keep doing such great Content! That helps new Players a lot!

Love the content, love the video format ❤ would be cool to see a breakdown of armour applies to DOT and a bit more info on health regen too!

Thx

i follow these tips and i still find myself where i destroy everything and never take damage to suddenly just instant death. without even raising corruption i go from standing in omen circles like its nothing to instantly dying in the first three seconds.

so then i revamp almost all my gear. and its the same thing. great until it isnt.

the problem is that theres so many different ways to mitigate damage and you need almost all of them. theres just not enough stats on armor to accomplish it. sure they added curropted items and various other things to help. but its a bandaid to a bigger problem. the system is too convoluted and complex to actually function in a way that actually makes sense without deep diving in excel spreadsheets and datamining for days on end. its supposed to be a video game we play in our spare time. not a full time job i need to invest hundreds of hours just researching inorder to play it at a "average" level.

I almost always struggle with defense when moving from regular to empowered monoliths.  I tend to have a low health pool most of the time.  Once I start getting the uniques for the build, many don't include health or resistances.  I typically am not in a position to be able to go straight to 2LP gear with T-7 affixes to slam so that health can be slammed on those uniques.  It feels like a mid game limbo where I have the damage to be ok in Empowered monoliths, but not the defense to survive very long.  Should I be forgoing putting on those uniques and using exalted gear for the defensive stats until I am further into the game?  I know that most builds I tend to play have uniques that are mandatory for the build to function.

maybe play HC before you make a video like this haha
