Wow, your stove oil is not as bad as I thought it would be.  Ours here in the state of Washington is $5.83.  My advice is to fill up as much as you can before the next shipment arrives there in Gambell.  When the new price hits it will rise about $4 a gallon.  If you can get a 250-gallon tank that would save you $1000 after the new price.  If you can get a tank, then it should more than pay for itself at that time.

Sorry that you need to defend yourself from viewers who accuse of complaining when you give honest facts to people like me who like to hear how life really works there.  Thanks for giving me an insight into life up there.

It sucks to see the cost spiral. At the rate you are burning heating oil you are living more efficiently than most of your viewers. You are also way more aware of the resources you use, where they come from, and how to get your own - nothing to explain or apologize for.

I also loved hearing you mention your Hondas rather than ATVs. It reminds me of the awesome bear monitors we worked with at Cape Dyer on Baffin Island many years ago. Nice to see it hasn't changed.
