I assume that you never have heard of the German Neuberger RPM 370/1 which outerperform the russion. tubetester on on all settings and measurements. on top of it with the german one you can use a multimeter to set the parameters exacte when there is a degradation due to deviations on components.Beside that the german one does not use standart elektrolytisch capacitors.to prevent lekkage etc.etc.I use this german tester since 1956. and i never have to change or to recalibrate as the measrement indicaters are set independently Best regards Martin Best regards
I liked the video, but the title has nothing to do with the content.
The correct title for this video should be "Why is the tube tester blablabla better than the others" or "the best tube tester in the world"!
Jean Luc, Thank you so much for this video. I want the best tube tester and I have been looking at the L3-3 for a while. This help me make the decision.
There is one tester above what you have and that's a curve tracer tests tube under full voltages and shows its amplification on a graph through software
You mentioned about english book for L3-3, do you know how/where can I find one? I have one original book in russian but I understand only schematic from it. I changed potentiometers with multiturn ones in my L3-3, is easier to set voltages. Excellent devices L1_3 and L3_3, I have both models, very few differences.
You've made the best case for buying a L3-3 I think I have ever heard, as well as laying bare the critical flaws of many other testers.Hickoks are indeed unreliable to calibrate and AVO testers are known to have meter troubles that are very difficult to fix. While I have no experience with Metrix made testers as well., I know the RPM 375 is on this level. My ONLY issue with the L3-3 series is US tube type test data. The only other possible downside of these testes is they cannot test Compactron tubes directly( you would have to test each section separately), But I can't think of ANY tester that could test Compactrons without having to change the settings for the different sections, so this is a minor flaw. You are also right about grid current testing: this is very important for used tubes and Hickok never had a test for this. Only some of the B&K testers had any means to test grid current and they place in comparison to the L3-3.
Hello Jean Luc. I recently purchased a L3-3. Do you suggest replacing all of the capacitors on the analyser? Did you do this to your L3-3? If so, do you have a BOM & where you purchased your components.
