I could listen to David reminisce all day. Always entertaining, informative & charming.

It’s true what they say about the nets😂 facing quick bowling in the nets just feels so much scarier and ridiculously unnecessary danger

Joel Garner is hardly ever named in an all time team, but he absolutely would not be out of place. Phenomenal bowler, shut down almost everyone he bowled to.

In the late 80's I was playing cricket in country Victoria and a local bloke would come back to his hometown and play a few games while he was on his break from AFL. He would bowl around the 145 kph/90 mph mark and it was intimidating. When drafted as a 17 yo he was a talented medium pacer but 2 preseasons in the weights room certainly improved his bowling, the sale of helmets went through the roof that summer. I was lucky enough to survive a few overs against him and surprisingly you actually got used to the speed. The ball certainly comes off the bat quicker IF you can time it.
