Today, I’m taking you along on a stationery shopping vlog in Japan—and sharing a hidden Japanese stationery store in Kichijoji, Tokyo, that made me way too excited.

By the way, I currently use a Hobonichi Weeks, two Traveler’s Notebooks, and an A5 planner. 📖

My Hobonichi and A5 planner have gradually become places for recording everyday life, while my Traveler’s Notebooks are for travel and days out. 🖋️

So now I’m thinking about adding one larger planner to manage my schedule and keep track of everything in one place. 🤔💭

As ever, I’m jealous of all the wonderful stores and stationery you have access to. I’m loving stickers at the moment, but stamps are definitely becoming more interesting. I’m also impressed that Japanese culture gives a meaningful outlet for artists like this, if that makes sense.

Dear Yuki, I have been wanting to comment for so long! I think you have one of the most qualitative stationery video content on YouTube. Thank you so much for showing us so many nice shops and the type of products we can buy in these beautiful stores. My husband and I are visiting Japan for a second time at the end of October, and your videos have been so helpful for me to decide which places to visit, and what kind of stationery products I can expect to find.

We will be visiting Tokyo, Unazaki, Nagoya, Nagano, Osaka and Okinawa. I cannot wait to go to the Tobichi store this time, as last time I went in 2024, I was just being introduced to the Hobonichi world, but now, 2 years later, I am a much more experimented user. I have been enhjoying the daily releases from Hobonichi this month, so exciting. Thank you again for all the places you take us to, and the detail with which you show us the merchandise. It really is helpful to see beforehand what I could buy when I get there, it saves a lot of time. I will try to comment as often as I can! What an amazing store. I miss Japan so much, my family and I lived there for 16 years. My husband was US Navy, we loved living there. We left the end 2017 and moved back to the US, California. I miss the stationary there, no place makes stationary like Japan.

That looks like a very interesting place to visit. The stamp section looked great. Thats definitely going on my must visit list, at this rate im going to have to stay for a few months! I don't use a planner but i have a daily journal and a garden journal and a travel journal. Thats enough to keep me busy. Take care, Sue x

Thanks for another great video of a place a little out of the way. For a planner I use a Traveler's Notebook passport size with a weekly calendar insert. It's perfect to fit in a bag but usually sits on my desk. Since where I live is very hot most months out of the year, (it will be over 41° for the next ten days or so) I keep an A7 size MD Notebook with the MD goat leather notebook cover in my pocket. I use it with a Kaweco Sport rollerball pen. I use this to jot things down during the day to remember for later, to either put in my planner or to write in my journal. The pocket notebook set is extremely light and compact enough to even fit into gym shorts.

Oh, Yuki! This has to be the most beautiful shop I have ever seen. Apart from the cute products, the store furniture (mostly wooden shelves) and the organisation style stole my heart :)

This indeed will be a dangerous place to go to (in terms of my wallet).

i like the clear cover! i like that they have a sample book to give you ideas! I use a standard weekly Notebook for planning, an A5 midori for memory keeping and a passport size cover with notebooks, a monthly and daily. The passport goes with me in my purse. I use the daily book to capture notes of my day then transfer the information when I am working on my memory keeping. In 2027 I am using a Hobonichi Cousin for memory keeping. I am hoping to buy the 2027 at the new store in the train station or at the Tobichi store. i am going at the end of October and hope they still have some.

Thanks for another great video. The machine at the frying pan shop that cost 58000 yen looks like an ‘ice kacang” machine. They put a block of ice at the bottom to make ice shavings (something like the Korean bingsu). How peculiar to see it there ! Will definitely put Tegashima on my to do list when I visit Tokyo one day.
