I’ve been budgeting this way for years, but September came with a little surprise. I did something with my money that I haven’t done in a LONG time, and I’m sharing exactly what happened, why I did it, and how it affected my budget.

One of the most important parts of budgeting happens after the month is over. Closing out my budget gives me a chance to compare what I planned to spend with what I actually spent, look at where my money really went, and use that information to make better decisions going forward.
