Isn't this the case that inspired "Four Lions"? Chris Morris spoke about an MI5 recording made in the suspect's bedroom, shared with his young brother. In which the younger brother questioned the stockpile of Ammonium Nitrate weedkiller when they didn't have a garden. "Go back to sleep Faisel"😂

Love the stories. Request to change the rather shrill jingle, as probably like many of us I like to listen to podcasts as I drift off. The jingle is a pretty effective stimulant!

Interested in hearing this backstory. I was in Hong Kong that summer (2006). My return flight to the US was in early September just as the airport security (at least public facing) was being worked out. It was basically don't even bother with liquids or gels in any bag (checked or otherwise). They moved the gate to the isolated end of a terminal and added an extra security checkpoint layer. Everyone's carry-ons were hand searched (and most passengers were subject to pat downs) to get into the zone. I assumed a Continental flight destined for the New York metro had a few extra red flags, but travel was particularly odd at that time.

First time coming across your channel. Like the idea of the channel and the topics. Thanks for putting these together.
One critique, the story telling at times gets long, either with banter between story tellers or conversations get side tracked. As a small example, naming of suspects, to interns etc..
Thanks for the video

One of the Group lived on Folkestone Rd Walthamstow.
I lived there for years & Knew him as a young child, always sitting outside .
He was a Convert.
Never seemed to have any parents around.

Real missed opportunity not to include a clip of Nate Bargatze talking about how difficult it is to dig a hole 😂

This is the first video of yours I’ve watched, I’m so glad it’s an old one. I’m hooked and wouldn’t be able to wait for pt2. Just subscribed too!

FYI, The way the british guy pronounces IKEA is much closer to what its actually pronunced like in swedish than the version the rest of the world uses.

The house would have been under constant surveillance to form a pattern of use as well as each member being tailed while they team made entry

Tang was very popular amongst Americans growing up in the 70-80’s. The ‘sports drink’ before all others.

Great episode gents

Same general time frame I remember being on vacation near Miami and there was a "Spy store". Small cameras and concealable cameras were not exactly common then.

Not surprised that he struggled to dig the hole. The summer of 2006 was absolutely roasting and the bits of Epping Forest which pop up near Walthamstow (presuming that's where he went) are often the driest places in England.

A friend of mine worked at Manchester Airport in the mid-80s. He told me that only 2 airlines tallied bags checked in, with passengers on flights and would not take off if there was any discrepancy. In other words, anyone could check in baggage, then NOT board the flight. The plane would then take off with the bags in the hold. Those 2 airlines were American Airlines and El Al.
