Being American I wish our show scandals could be this adorable

As someone who lives in the UK i can confirm that a fair few of us are extremely easily offended, it is embarassing.

The hilarious thing about Bingate is that he brought the bin up for judging and just plonked it on the table

The UK: 6 people called in to say they don't like something.

The headline: MASSIVE OUTRAGE AROUND THE COUNTRY!

or my fav: 5 facebook comments = SOCIAL MEDIA MELTDOWN!

It is pretty bad that during the culture week the contestants literally didn’t even follow what country they were supposed to do baked goods from. Like the whole “yeah we were supposed to do baked goods from Japan but I decided to to French baked goods instead” thing they showed was stupid

tbh, the first edition of Bake Off Argentina had a worst scandal. After the show ended, it was discovered that the winner wasn't actually an amateur baker, but she had in fact studied to be a baker and had actually been on another show a few years prior, showing a Rogel cake.

From that point forward, people were outraged, Bake off had been super popular and everyone loved that it (this was one of the first, if not the first, wholesome reality shows in the country), so social media exploded and demanded her to be disqualified. Things escalated to the point that people were claiming the production knew she wasn't an amateur baker and had been accomodated in the show (supported by a couple instances were she was let off easier than other contestants, and it was even said she was helped a lot during one particular challenge), and it even came out that she had a murdered a man by acidentally running him over (this was apparently true).

Finally, the production made a video (idk if it could be considered as an episode because it was very short, and if it aired on tv), with the judges, the presenter, the winner and the second place, where they explained that because she had hidden that she was a professional baker, she was disqualified and the second place was now the winner

a squirrels nutsack "distracting from an emotional victory" is hilarious to me

The 1956 Refrigerator Safety Act requires that fridge doors can be opened easily from the inside. Modern fridges have magnetic closures that can be opened by pushing from the inside. Kids can't get stuck in them.

I imagine if that squirrel footage was shown in a David Attenborough documentary, I'm sure there wouldn't be complaints.

The tacos were the most offensive part of that episode. They were not tacos lmao

the girl that left his ice cream out should have been the one going home.

this video should be called 20 examples that show people have entirely too much time on their hands to be "scandalized" by things.

The culture week description was a bit misleading. The sombreros weren’t the main issue. People were more upset about the judges’ blatant ignorance about Mexico. One of the judges claimed that the tres leches was too moist even though the name should be self explanatory. Then there was the offhand comment about Mexico not being a real place.

The only problem With Lucas' BoJo impression is that he made Boris look too intelligent and competent...

I love the British bakeoff...it is one of my comfort shows...I do miss Mel and Sue tho...

the squirrel one reminds me of when folks complained about Robin in the 1960s Batman for showing too much and the response was more or less "if people are choosing to focus on that area, that speaks more on them".

I've seen all of those on this list. Fun to relive them. When I was in culinary school things like Bingate used to happen. It occurs when someone is so into their own thing they just do stupid things. We had made puff pastry and each person labeled their own. We made two batches. When we went to use them one of mine was missing. Our Chef instructor quietly checked the waste bins by every student until he found the wrapper with my name on it. When he confronted the person who "stole" it she remarked "Her first one was terrible and his (mine) was perfect and she was too embarrassed to have another failure. Now that was on purpose.

As a British person, it’s comical how tiny of a thing this country will complain about, it’s embarrassing💀

I just want one of those wall ovens that the door tucks in under and out of your way.
