Why is it so difficult to talk about Islamic history? We are developing an in-depth perspective that questions historical events.
In the "Angle Difference" program, prepared and presented by Aydın Tonga on 12punto, we discussed the complex nature of debates on Islamic history in Türkiye with Prof. Dr. Mehmet Azimli.
As in many fields, examining and studying Islamic history from different perspectives sometimes leads us to encounter difficult barriers.
This program aims to offer a perspective that encourages the reader and viewer to not only accept what is told but also to question historical facts.
Prof. Dr. Mehmet Azimli, known for his in-depth and scientific approaches to Islamic history and therefore targeted by some circles, focuses on the urban history perspective within the broad scope of Islamic history, presenting an in-depth analysis of events, not just a superficial one.
This historical narrative, extending to the present day, demonstrates the depth it gains when it meets an academic discipline.
In this broadcast, where Mehmet Azimli and Aydın Tonga emphasize the importance of examining historical events in all their dimensions, a groundbreaking reading of history is presented.
Note: Due to a technical malfunction during filming, Prof. Dr. Mehmet Azimli's explanations are shared with a still photograph specifically for this program. We apologize to our esteemed guest Mehmet Azimli and our viewers for this inconvenience beyond our control.
