Finally, we do have some substance in the headlines... three meaningful stories are in the headlines...
Headline 1 Trump Rules Out Iran Attacks Before Midterm Elections (Newsmax)
Headline 2 Putin offers to help end Iran war as Trump touts ‘productive discussions’ with Tehran (Fox News)
Headline 3 Iran could destroy Gulf in doomsday strike (JFEED, N 12)
Each of these stories fit with the biblical scenario of the last days, the chaos in the Middle East, with Russia at the forefront in the headlines...
Headline 1 Trump Rules Out Iran Attacks Before Midterm Elections
President Donald Trump said Thursday that the United States will not attack Iran before the Nov. 3 midterm elections, announcing in a Truth Social post that discussions with Tehran are productive and the U.S. blockade will remain in place.
This statement is not surprising given the importance of the upcoming midterm elections. An attack by the US at this time would likely make it more difficult for the Republicans to hold the House, and perhaps even the Senate.
Of course, this does not preclude Iran from starting something, and then blaming the US ... if they feel that it will take away Trump’s authority after the midterms... Israel continues to wait on the sidelines... A lot can happen between now and November 3...
Headline 2 Putin offers to help end Iran war as Trump touts ‘productive discussions’ with Tehran
Russian President Vladimir Putin told his Iranian counterpart, Masoud Pezeshkian, during talks Thursday in Turkmenistan that Moscow was ready to help end the war in Iran, Reuters reported, citing Russian news agencies.
“You know our position. On our part, we are ready to do everything we can to help you resolve this situation,” Putin said, according to the Interfax news agency, during talks on the sidelines of a regional meeting of former Soviet states.
“We know that Iran is making real efforts to end the conflict, which broke out through no fault of its own, no fault of Iran,” Putin added, pointing to what he described as the “positive evolution” in relations between Moscow and Tehran.
This is not surprising given Russia prime position in the last days as the leader of an invasion of Israel which will be joined by other nations such as Iran and Turkey (Ezekiel 38,39). Look for Russia to continue to take the lead in these Middle Eastern issues as the US will eventually fade from prominence.
Headline 3 Iran could destroy Gulf in doomsday strike (JFEED, N 12)
John Mearsheimer of University of Chicago says extreme US and Israeli pressure is pushing Tehran into a corner with no way out and Iran's response could be a devastating attack on Gulf energy infrastructure, global economic collapse, and a direct sprint to nuclear weapons
Professor John Mearsheimer is warning of an extreme scenario in the confrontation between the United States and Iran. According to him, sustained American pressure on Tehran could push the Iranian regime to a point where it has nothing left to lose, and then what he calls the "doomsday option" could become reality.
Mearsheimer, considered one of the sharpest and controversial voices in American academia, argues that the Trump administration's policy is based on fundamentally flawed assumptions. In his assessment, any attempt to bring about regime change or total Iranian surrender through air strikes and economic siege has almost no chance of success, based on historical lessons.
At the centre of Mearsheimer's warning stands a scenario in which Iran, if convinced its survival is under real threat, unleashes its full arsenal of ballistic missiles, cruise missiles and drones at full force against critical infrastructure in the Persian Gulf. Energy facilities, refineries and desalination plants in Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates and other states could be targets of such an attack.
According to Mearsheimer, a massive strike of this kind could "devastate Saudi Arabia as a functioning society". This is not a pinpoint strike but systematic destruction of the capacity for modern life in the Gulf. The Strait of Hormuz, through which a quarter of the world's oil trade passes, has already become a chokepoint, and prolonged closure or more severe disruption would send shockwaves through the global economy.
Bingo... this is exactly what we have been saying since the start of the war... the present government of Iran will never voluntarily surrender. If they realize their end is coming, they will use whatever weapons they have left to wreak havoc on the world, to cause chaos and confusion. This is what Shia Islam is all about...
