The first round of the 2026 elections strongly impacted the market. In this video, I'll show what the election results revealed for the presidency, state governments, and especially the Senate, and why this will have such a significant impact in the coming years.
The reaction was immediate: the Brazilian stock market reached new highs, Brazilian stocks listed in the United States rose, and the dollar fell below R$5 again. But, more than just looking at the movement of a single day, I want to understand what's behind it and what numbers help explain this desire for change.
I also discuss the scenario that the next government will inherit, regardless of who wins. The budget arrives with little room for maneuver, future interest rates have already reacted, and the scenario abroad is not moving in the same direction as here. This significantly changes how we view this short-term enthusiasm.
Finally, I'll show why a cheaper dollar can be an opportunity to continue with diversification. This applies both to those starting to invest abroad and to those who can increase their contributions, without letting the euphoria of the moment change their long-term plan.
