Who would have ever thought the two albinos from Beaumont Texas would be two of the greatest Blues/Rock artists in history! I've seen both brothers together and separate and both are simply jaw droppingly talented. Johnny passed back in 2014 but Edgar is still alive and well, which by the way is one of the titles of one of his best songs! By the way, I always enjoy your reactions and you are so pretty ❤
We need more music from way back when and we need more artists like The Warning and Upchurch to revive the sounds of the past! Music today I feel is per packaged cookie-cutter overproduced in the studio with no feeling or soul. Red I love this so much real musicians with real instruments we need more of this. Young people need to go back to the roots of music.Love what you do ❤❤❤❤#edgarwintergroup#johnnywinter#blues#funk#guitar#multiinstruments#redheadedneighbor#bestreactor
They were raised 50 miles south of where I live in Beaumont,Texas. Several late greats came from that area: The Big Bopper (JP Richardson), George Jones and Janis Joplin. And quite a few living country singers, Clay Walker, Tracy Bird and Mark Chestnut to name a few.
I first remember this being sung by a UK band called the Nashville teens, but apart from the Winter group Bobbie Gentry also sang it. Each of these covers were quite different, this version had more in common with the original. I guess you were suitably impressed by the instrumental prowess of the Winter brothers, me too I forgot how good they could be! 🌹 Edit: the organ used is a Hammond, the most iconic rock organ ever!
The absolute best killer version of this song was on the Edgar Winter's White Trash double live album Roadwork. Song was written in 1960 by NC songwriter JD Loudermilk.
