"It was a pyrrhic victory. There were no music instruments to celebrate, or feast after that battle. I'm just grateful to live another day.." -Random Roman Soldier

"What a battle it was. We didn't expect our commander to die at the hands of putrid brigands. My old comrade Maximus was killed as well. Some might call it a victory, but I'd rather call that bloody day a loss."
- Some Roman veteran from this battle

'Yes... now you are understanding, old chap!'

THEY’RE HERE FOR OUR JORDANS! STOP THE LOOTERS AT ALL COSTS!!!

thumbs down for not using the bombs efficiently

the words "Pullo...Formation!!!" keep ringing in my head.

If you didnt play and the morale domage from the player didnt happen, this wouldve been a looter victory

you get a solid troop quality and a battanian fort and you can hold against 2-3 times your own numbers.

00:43 nice dodge!

"The Senate proclaimed it a great victory for the Republic, no one seemed to care that the 'Barbarian Horde' was just a mass of brigands. Those of us who returned home were hailed as heroes... the reality is we were just the ones who survived."

“ROFL get gud peasant.” - Some Roman

Dear Centurion Marcus Aurelius,

I hope this letter finds you in good health and high spirits. I am writing to you from the battlefield, where I have witnessed horrors beyond imagination. The carnage and destruction that unfolded before my eyes were unlike anything I had ever seen. I write to you now as one of the few survivors of this devastating encounter, hoping that my words may shed light on the plight of our brave soldiers.

Our Legion, IX Hispana, engaged in a fierce battle against a formidable enemy force. The clash was merciless, and the air was thick with the sounds of swords clashing, screams of anguish, and the thunderous footsteps of soldiers. The battle raged on for what seemed like an eternity, and the ground became drenched in blood, both Roman and enemy alike.

Despite our unwavering courage and steadfast resolve, fate was not on our side that day. Wave after wave of enemy soldiers crashed upon our lines, overwhelming us with their sheer numbers and tactical cunning. The odds were insurmountable, and our ranks were decimated in the face of such a relentless onslaught.

I cannot express the sorrow and despair that fills my heart as I recount the loss of my comrades. Men I had fought alongside, laughed with, and shared many campfires with now lie motionless on this accursed battlefield. Their sacrifice will forever be etched in my memory, their names whispered in prayers for their souls to find peace in the afterlife.

But amidst the chaos and devastation, I am reminded of the indomitable spirit that resides within every Roman soldier. We fought valiantly, never faltering in our duty to defend the Empire. Our blades clashed with those of the enemy, our shields locked in a steadfast defense. The ground trembled beneath us as we stood our ground, united in our purpose.

As I pen these words, my wounds still fresh and my spirit weary, I take solace in the fact that I have survived this horrific ordeal. The gods have spared me for reasons I cannot fathom, and it is my duty to honor the fallen by carrying their memory forward. I will continue to fight for Rome, to protect her borders, and to uphold the values and ideals that we hold dear.

Centurion Marcus Aurelius, please convey my deepest gratitude to the families of my fallen comrades. May they find solace in the knowledge that their loved ones fought bravely until the very end. Their sacrifice will never be forgotten, and their names shall be written in the annals of Roman history as heroes.

I will continue to serve Rome with unwavering loyalty and dedication. Though the wounds on my body may heal, the scars on my soul will remain a constant reminder of the horrors of war. I shall carry them with me always, a testament to the sacrifices made by those who came before me.

I’m very surprised they didn’t retreat after the first mangonel strikes
