I've encountered so many sock knitters over the years who choose a sock size based on how many stitches to cast on, but this is a pretty inexact method that can lead to poor results. In this video, I'll walk you through what makes a sock fit well, how to take the measurements you'll need, and how to choose the sock size that will fit you every time, no matter what pattern you use.

1. If you have fewer rows per inch in your row gauge than the designer does, you will probably need to work fewer repeats of the stitch pattern, not more.
2. A sock yarn with 410 yards per 100 grams will be slightly thinner than a sock yarn with 400 yards per 100 grams.
