Guys, guys. Hear me out. You can praise Glenn Close without demeaning Olivia Colman's performance. Good lord.

I love that Olivia Coleman thanked Lady Gaga and Glen Close in her speech. You can tell that they’re all kindred spirits and supportive of one another.

This video is edited better than Bohemian Rhapsody.

Olivia Colman gave a brilliant performance as an unhinged and conflicted ruler, had fantastic chemistry with her co-stars, and stole all of the comedic moments that involved her character.  She very much deserved that Oscar, and all the other awards she won for that performance.

Oscar isn't everything.  Some of the best female performances in cinematic history went unrewarded by the Academy.  Awards are nice but certainly not the whole enchilada.

Don't forget, Amy Adams is the new Glenn Close.

Olivia Colmans speeches also helped. Just the genuine shock and hilarity made her an easy and deserving option.

Glenn Close - Queen of smiling classily for others' wins

Great analysis. The whole "it's his/her" turn thing for an Oscar win always sort of bugged me, treating the award as if it were a consolation prize. Leo DiCaprio went through something similar where everyone just wanted him to win an Oscar regardless of who gave the best performance for said year.

I love Glenn Close’s reaction. You can practically hear her saying “Those Fuckers!” In her head when they announced the winner!

The academy really really really hates Glenn Close

Olivia Colman won without any campaigning , she was busy making The Crown all along, I reckon she won for her brilliant performance. Olivia is a British teasure of TV and film!

All of these actresses could’ve taken this award home.

I love Glen Close, but I was 1000% rooting for Olivia. Her win was the best moment of the night for me.

Olivia Colman's performance was brilliant. And her speech was absolutely adorable. The contrast between the two makes it all the more impressive

Having not seen The Wife or Roma,  my vote would go to Colman. She took a role that could been cringe worthy or laughable and gave it depths.  She was pathetic, manipulative, petulant and tragic depending on the situation. And it wasnt the tantrums that stood out.  It was a change in the Queen's eyes that spoke volumes.  That said,  I hate that actors are pitted against each other like this.....

"Looking at how Hollywood treats women" Yes! Can you do a video on Yalitza and Latina women at the Oscars.

One of the best parts of Olivia Colman's win was her role wasn't heavily campaign-aided. No Oscar nominees luncheon, no appearances on late night American TV programs, and she was busy filming The Crown in the UK.

EDIT: should've watched before commenting lol

"I will not be IGNORED, Oscar!"

Marlene Dietrich, what wit!
