I don't use glue I use Gloss Varnish & use different makes of foil for each area ... even the Flat dull side for better effects ;)

Hi Richard, great tips with the foil. You're absolutely correct in starting with the belly skins. As all your lap joints will be correct.

When extreme-sweep wings and shock cones were all the rage.  I like to think of a Lightning as the British hybrid of MiG 19 maneuverability with Su-15 speed.

I just started modeling again, after a 50 year break, and I've been inspired by you to have a go at this. I've already ordered all the stuff and it should be with me tomorrow. I've got this kit in my stash, but I don't want to risk it until I've tried this on a few other kits. As it happens I've got a couple of Academy F-86s, so they will be my guinea pigs before tackling the Lightning. Thanks for sharing your knowledge so freely and I hope I don't make too big of a mess of it.

Very good video, I knew this was a thing but I didnt know the details and wondered how the foil conformed to curves. My posion is sci-fi mecha so one day I will try foiling on of those.
