One night (like 11pm), while having a smoke on the front porch I saw a hooded figure walk around the side of the house across from us. There had been a few break in’s in the area so I called my mom out and we saw the figure start playing with a basement window and then disappear. We called the neighbor immediately to warn them before calling police. Poor woman panicked, asked me to call the police for her, and her husband rushed to get their kid who had a basement room. Moments later, my mom and I see the husband haul a young guy out of the front door, followed by his sobbing daughter. It became the neighborhood joke that I caught the 15 year old daughter’s boyfriend sneaking into her basement room for some “late night fun”. The police had a good laugh when they arrived also. And we received a home made lasagna and huge plate of baked goods from a very thankful mama bear, lol.
I had two neighbors from hell growing up. First is the one that told my brother off when he was walking our family dog because he pooped in her yard and she didn't like that despite my brother still picking it up. She has an almost invisible (as in place at foot level on the edge of her yard) sign about how she doesn't want other dogs pooping in her yard but she lets her dogs poop all over the neighborhood and doesn't pick up after them like a responsible pet owner. She also once saw me walking the same dog recognized me and asked me about what my brother said about her. I had since forgotten about the previous incident as it was something that happened second and I didn't get the full details so I was perplexed. The second neighbor I think is even worse but not for anything they did to me or my family. Our neighborhood started getting at least three stray cats that wandered all over the place and were frequently seen by me and my family while walking the dog or just looking at our own yard. At least one of them was a free-range cat that belonged to a family that had moved next door to us but the other as I later found out from my mom belonged to another neighbor on our street who left after all their kids were in college. She decided to abandon the cat because it was getting fed by an elderly neighbor further down the road. Thankfully the cat now has a proper home having been adopted by the family who moved into the same house the cat's former owner lived in.
The guy with the long grass. That’s a stupid complaint. We don’t know if someone got sick, passed, etc. I lost my ability to walk at 30 recently and we had to sell out home. You never know what people are going through.
I went from having annorying @ss neighbors, really bad and backstabbing roommates. To peace....where i live now its so peaceful, only noise right now is when the few kids that live around us play. An the construction, 3 new houses are being built but its not terribly bad and my niece likes to wave at them as they work when we go on our walks.
I had these neighbors once. They moved in next to us and introduced themselves. We were like okay, whatever. A month goes buy and the guy starts building a structure. We have a security fence around our yard, but the neighbors can see in from their house because of how my landlord set it up. A few weeks go by and this weirdo builds a 15 foot tall tower made of scape that is closed in up top on three sides except for the side facing toward our fence. He built it up against our fence on his side. He then places his mildly aggressive dog in said tower to bark and lunge at us when we are in our yard. We had an elderly crippled dog and we would have to watch her when she pottied because guard dog would be barking.
Also, neighbors would through old food containers and dirty laundry out their windows and into our yard. I once found at least 6 pairs of dirty underwear. So glad when they moved out.
The first one reminded me of this one guy who kidnapped and murdered a girl in his shed and played his radio super loud so his family or anyone wouldn’t hear her struggling
Our driveway goes on part of our neighbors property and so there is an easement that allows our driveway to be there. For years our neighbor would berate us about how that’s his land and we can’t use, yelling at us for simply walking on the left side of our driveway because that’s “his part”. Got so heated that we went to court
My 64 years old grouchy sleezy neighbour saw me and my father in the showers at our local gym and hasn't stopped shouting and boasting that he is more well endowed than both of us and has even tried hitting on my mother, my father tried to get him to stop but I don't think he's very well so we have to ignore him even when he shouts at us from across the street
The family across the street used to burn yard waste (which is illegal). The father was burning yard waste one time and left the fire unattended. Idiot didn’t notice the gas can right next to the flame. Half of their fence burned down. Fucking hilarious.
In one of the other threads I watched today, I heard about a guy who killed his neighbor with an axe for ringing his doorbell. Not to condone his actions, but starting to understand him a bit...
Hearing stuff like this makes me think we got off easy in the bad neighbor department. We had one set call the cops on my birthday because my sister and her friends were listening to music in her room with the door open, another old couple called animal control because our 18lb dog growled at her through the fence (it's chainlink, but still). There was also a family before and their daughter almost hit all of us (at different times) while backing out of their driveway. I was right behind her with my incident and she freaking floored it, so I'm pretty sure she'd been actually trying to hit me.
currently single with no plans of changing that and these stories make me wonder if in 60 years i'll be the lonely neighbor with 15 cats who terrorizes local kids. i hope not but the human brain is fragile
My neighbor set his dogs after my cat, cat ran under his brand new F250, dogs chased. Cat hid on the transmission, dogs attacked, cat fought back. I realized what was happening and asked him to put the dogs away so I can get the cat. Got the cat out safely. He tried to start the truck to move it, truck won’t start. His dogs ate the wiring under the truck trying to attack the cat. Not my dog, not my truck, not my problem.
