In September 1994, UFOMania was runnin' wild across Zimbabwe, and on Friday the 16th, one of the most compelling UFO incidents of all time would take place. I couldn't find any photos of the UFO, all I could find were some drawings (so please excuse the thumbnail) and a whole bunch of bulls***.

Despite this being quite a stupid story, there's a lot going on here, so I've decided to do a 3 part series on it.

Part 1: The Silliest UFO Story of All Time: The Ar...

Part 3: Coming Soon (Tuesday, 6:00 am GMT +2)

After teaching 7th graders for a few years, I wouldn't even trust a kid if they said they saw a pebble on the ground.

I forgot to mention it for part 1, but that part about the local TV schedules was absolutely S tier debunking work.

This is the weirdest wildlife video I've ever seen.

It is totes obvs that what they saw was a young Sasquatch who was visiting the area. Everyone knows that American Sasquatch families travel to Zimbabwe for vacation just to get away from all the cryto-chasers that plague the US. They get mistaken for tokaloshi all the time.

Part 2 came out FAST! Now I can't wait for part 3 and your inevitable meltdown from the madness.

kids: [see an adult get really excited and give her undivided attention to a kid who talks about seeing aliens and says she will show the kid's drawing of it on TV]

kids talk about aliens and draw pictures of aliens

her: 🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯

It is the most compelling UFO story ever told because the kids were compelled to tell the story.

My theory: A glazier truck drives down the road, sunlight glinting off the side. One or more of the workers, dressed in work coveralls, needs to get out, maybe to relieve a cramp, maybe to answer the call of nature. Kids see this flash of light and guy walking funny, crouched, and voila, UFO story is born.

The thing about kids is... they're completely full of shit.
Adults too, btw.

One day in primary school, I came across a bone in the playing field, and told all my friends it was the remains of someone. By the next day, the body had become a victim of a bear attack, and the pupils were terrified. Apparently the Dog prints in the snow near the bone had become Bear prints, and that Bear had eaten someone. That’s how easy a single bone (probably a dog’s treat) had become a Bear attack in a country without any Bears 😅. I’ll never forget it as long as I live, as I was mortified to be pulled in front of the head teacher. So yea, the UFO could well have been a bin lid and the story spiral from there. Never underestimate the imagination of children, and some adults

The children described a Tokoloshe. They drew a Tokoloshe. Local legends speak of Tokoloshe encounters dating back centuries. Coincidence? Tokoloshe theorists say yes.

Let me tell ya something dude, you are a Legend! Working on a PC and hearing you rant makes me smile! ✌🏻✌🏻

I think "a shitload of fuck" is probably my new favorite phrase.

Let's gooooooo!!!!!!! (Haven't actually watched part 1 yet so I'm immediately leaving to watch that first)

@Shenaldrac 3 months ago

Absolutely disgusting hearing how these adults used children to reinforce their own delusions.

@Mr.Dinosalt 3 months ago (edited)

I like the Tokoloshi explanation. It's like saying the Loch Ness monster is just a Kraken.

Both are still pretty crazy, but the latter is more believable somehow.

I LOVE THESE UFO DEBUNKING VIDS. MORE MORE MORE !!

I feel so bad for the kids, they saw something that possibly frightened some of them, and instead of the adults around them remaining calm and reassuring them it was completely mundane and explainable, they brought in a kooky and selfish lady who manipulated them into lying on tv. I have to imagine that would be quite damaging for a kid to go through, especially since their sense of reality isnt yet fully developed. The Headmaster should have been protecting those kids.

My favourite part was when you went over all the kids drawings, I agree they are very cool!
