Sinan Kolat, a graduate of Robert College, entered the family business of tourism. However, he grew tired of city life and decided to pursue livestock farming. Ignoring his mother's words, "Did I educate you to become a shepherd?", he took out a $5.5 million loan from the bank. He invested all his money in a 150-acre plot of land he bought in the village of Deveçatağı in Kırklareli. He started with 600 milking cows. “I made many mistakes. In the early days, calves died, the person I bought feed from said, ‘I won’t send you feed anymore,’ and my animals were on the verge of starving to death. But I never gave up on either shepherding or my passion for production,” says Kolat, summarizing his love for livestock farming. Today, he owns a huge farm with 3,150 milking cows, producing 44 tons of milk per day and making his own feed.
