“I’ve changed my mind.”
Well… of course you did… 🤣

I won’t lie, I didn’t even remotely consider selling my QC for this, but after everything that I saw online and after all the things I read about the Stadium, I’ll take the leap of faith and make the change.

Pro Tip, don't use a hollow body in the cold.
A solid body is going to be much more stable and can sound just as "Jazzy".

I like that the Stadium has feet in the middle of the unit. This helps prevent the chassis from getting warped from pressure on the unit.

3:51 ok... that "tequila" convinced me, I'm buying the Helix Stadium

Lets face it. If you can afford either the FM9 or the Helix Stadium you have a very nice professional piece of gear to put to use.

If you are evaluating ease of use via a touchscreen, nothing beats the feel, quality and speed of the Quad Cortex

They couldn't let you play on the other side of that door? 🥶

I was concerned about the proprietary power cable too. Then I saw this quote from Eric Klein:

Yep, totally fine to use any standard IEC lead. The reason for the ferrite clamp is we need to guarantee EMI/ESD compliance when powering multiple power-hungry Nexus accessories over Cat6 that... don't exist yet. It's a safety precaution so we don't have surprises in the future

Regarding whether most guitarists will use showcase features.....once again we're thinking tol small....imagine a preset you can download to play to your favourite track, with not only the amps added amd dialed in, but also effects and amp channel changes dialed to change/turn off at pre assigned points on a timeline......add in Stadiums ability to load your favourite tracks and mute the guitar on the track and that's pretty much every bedroom players dream.
Hit play, stand there (or dont!), play your guitar, and let Helix handle.everything from clean/dirty channel switching, to enabling/disabling complex effects chains, etc.

I can only imagine that would be an amazing feeling to be locked in the moment while playing and being able to stay there for a whole performance and just forget that your pedalboard is even there!

From what I’ve seen so far, the FM nine still seems like a far more capable device. Much more in-depth sound shaping tools, and it has three midi inputs. When paired with midi expression pedals, you can control all sorts of parameters that can’t be done on the helix as far as I can see

I'm actually very excited to use Showcase in a band scenario to cover songs we currently can't due to our limited instrumentation. Was actually doing this in the 80's with a Macintosh, Mark of the Unicorn Performer, a home-built MIDI interface and a small rack of synths. It worked pretty well and we were able to cover Oingo Boingo, INXS, Allison Moyet, etc. with just guitar, bass, drums. I realize it is very possible to do the same today with an iPad and accouterments, but having it nicely contained in the HSXL is really pretty cool. Can't wait for FW 1.2!
