Subbed, purely for actually being so detailed on the steps.

Top job mate isn’t it strange I do this week in week out for 26 years and still watch channels like yours our lass thinks I’m mad

I've just used your video to mitre my worktops and I'd like to give you a massive thank you for an effortless job!💯
🙌

Very well explained

I was taught to use the opposite edge of the guide slot to make the preliminary cuts and then a full depth pass against the side of the slot nearest the cut. That's why the slot is a couple of mm wider than the guide bush. You can make the preliminary cuts in more than one pass lowering the  cutter in stages, then the final cut tight against the side of the guide slot nearest the cut,  The reason is that the final cut is slighly cleaner and smoother and if you try and cut right through in one pass your more likely to chip the laminate as you break out at the far end,  Another advantage of cutting in stages is that your cutter lasts longer.

my dad over 30 years ago done all those mitres by hand. I remember he got a hold of one of these ( they were expensive over 30 years ago 😂 ) and i machined one in my work for him, he said you were not quicker but saved him in sweat with the router.

I'm from the UK but live in Iceland where I recently started going to night school to learn carpentry. I actually subscribed to your channel a while ago, but I thought you'd like to know that your video was given to us as learning material 👍🏻

Great video... it's amazing how many tips you come across when watching others work, even after years of doing this stuff... You're a credit to the industry, Mate!👍

Great summary mate!

If you are doing a one of job it's worth mentioning that some suppliers will supply your worktop pieces with the mitre already cut, for a very fair price. This certainly worked out well for me.

Brilliant video. Very well detailed. I'm not a Carpenter/Joiner. Sparks by trade but currently happen to be refitting my kitchen. IKEA kit, easy to knock up the cabinets. Masons mitre joint is the nervous bit. One shot at it so have been revisiting this video a few times. Very helpful, thank you!

Wicked video great step by step guide

Cracking job mate , I do this day in day out but still check out videos such as yours , very well explained and demonstrated,  love it

As a joiner I was taught that your top hat is a little small to your jig so you cut out near to you and the Final cut away so it gives you a nice finish cut but if you do the job right it does look good

Thank you for making this video. Every thing I was looking for and the perfect level of detail. Much appreciated!!!!!

Thank you very much for a very helpful video, I was able to join my worktop reasonably well because of this.

I use CT1.

DIAMOND GEEZER

thanks useful info

Beautifully clear. Thankyou. I'm been a bit nervy about attempting this.
