Today I'll share two pieces of news from our family—some good, some bad.
The good news: my son has taken another step toward his dream and is starting an apprenticeship to become a train driver in Switzerland.
The bad news: his first job at a restaurant ended with an unexpected dismissal after just a month. A conflict with a chef, rude communication, refusal to take a day off, and a decision that cost him his job.
In this video, I speak not only as a mother, but also as someone who has lived and worked in Switzerland for many years. We'll discuss differences in mentalities, respect in the workplace, personal boundaries, the ability to respond to criticism, and maintain good relationships even in conflict situations.
We'll discuss:
✔️ How work is organized in Switzerland;
✔️ Why it's important not to burn bridges;
✔️ How to properly defend your boundaries;
✔️ Why diplomacy is often more important than emotions;
✔️ What young people aren't taught in school.
What do you think: should you tolerate rudeness from your boss or is it better to leave right away?
