Kate is so lovely to listen to! She is so knowledgable and explains the quality of movement and way to engage with each position so well!

Your feet changing could be due to you gaining more muscle in your feet as you progress in ballet and your journey! More muscle is definitely a good thing!!💪🏻🦵🏼🦶🏻🤩🙌🏼

Take a moment and notice. Wow. Watching you work through basic movements shows how much you have learned, progressed, and improved. Just wow. Strong work!

Eva, please stop belittling and judging yourself so much, you look great. We are all human, and we all have weight fluctuations etc. I'm shocked that none of the drawstrings are cutting it. When I started demi pointe, my parents had my shoes customized at the cobbler to stop gapping. Basically he took two thick, strong pieces of elastic (my mom had satin sewn over them to blend in) and he sewed them in a big X across the top of the foot. Depending on the shoe, the top of the x was either just above the arch or just below the ankle. For the most parti It stopped the gap, and created more stability. You could try that method first. My first ballet shoes (at 4) were Danskin. I'm sad that they're pretty much out of business:(. They made such great slippers, and the drawstrings definitely did the job!

This series has been such fun to watch 😊

Okay so you don't need extra support for a super bendy arch so I think you should sew your elastic differently. Just use one piece of elastic per shoe instead of crisscrossing.  instead of sewing the elastic across the sides sew each end of elastic on the back of the shoe right on either side of that thick seem in the back! It will help with the baggy heels sooooooo much! I love watching your ballet journey!

Your teacher is SO lovely! This was really nice to watch!

I can REALLY notice how your form and posture has improved ALOT
you stand and move so much more like a ballarina.Just thought you'd like to know even tho that's not what the videos about.❤

Omg you really need the point shop and Josephine but in all fairness your feet looked gorgeous in all of them ❤xx

I absolutely loved this series!!!

I would love to see a collaboration with  Eva and the pointe shop. I think it would be amazing! 🩷🩰

Try using crisscross elastic over your instep.  Use two pieces of elastic, each sewn diagonally across the front of you foot. Attach one end deeply ( not on the edge) at the heel to create a good "pull".  Attach the other end around the mid section close to the side seam in line with the upper margin of your arch.  Do the same with another piece so it crosses much like your ribbons but slightly further forward.  It will take trial and error to get the tension just right. This way, as your instep expands through demi and full pointe, the shoe will hug your foot and will also be drawn closer to your heel.   With regards to the shank not breaking at the right place for you - you could simply cut it down yourself , like so many dancers do. However, if you order custom or bespoke shoes you can request a three quarter length shank with no nail to fix it in place at the arch.   Then if you want to trim it further it's easier to do because most of the work has already been done.  I wouldn't recommend cutting the shank down to half though at this stage of your pointe shoe and pointe work journey.

Two tips for slipping heels from someone who has the same issue: 1 sew the elastic down as close to the sole to the shoe as you can and/or 2 sew a loop of ribbon at the heel seam that you can thread your ribbons through. BTW the Ava's are notorious for slipping heel and also you won't get a good demi in them until they're nearly dead in my experience.

Try tote bag sewing your elastics. It really helps with disappearing heels.
I know Kathryn Morgan used heel cushions in her shoes to take up space & bonus made jumps more comfortable.

Kate is so beautiful, and the photos of her dancing are breathtaking! Wish I could have seen her in performance!

it would be interesting to see you try the 3D printed Act'ble pointe shoes, i am sad that they don't make the 'sock' around them in any prettier, more classical looking fabrics, however so many of the issues you're having with excess material especially regarding your disappearing heel wouldn't be an issue in them.

Other ways you can have your feet grow as an adult: 1 Gaining muscle and bone density in your feet and 2 Cross-training in other athletic disciplines.  Leaving ballet out of the equation for the moment, I'm also a hiker; do yoga and pilates and I volunteer in a horse rescue. I do a lot of heavy lifting and my feet went up a size. I switched from Blochs to Gaynors and found my perfect shoe because of that!  Go, Eva! 🎉

Oh Eva you have no idea how much I love you and your videos. You never fail to put a smile on my face even when I’m having a bad day.

Totally fascinating Eva! Love that you have a private tutor & can’t wait for next vid!!

I love listening to Kate.  She is just so lovely.
