I forgot to mention the pod(e)- prefix!
Pod(e)- means among others:
1. to place something under
 podkreślić - to underline
 podpisać dokument - to sign a document
2. to move upwards or towards
 podskoczyć - to jump up
 podnieść pudełko - to pick up the box
 podejść do kogoś - to appoach someone
3. to do something secretly, often illegally
 podsłuchiwać - to eavesdrop (to listen to someone without their permission)
 podrabiać - to counterfeit, to fake (e.g. money, signature)
