Three weeks ago, I traveled to Fuzhou, China, searching for one of the most famous ranchu goldfish farms in the country — Pan’s Ranchu Farm.
Before this trip, I had heard many stories about this place.
Some people said it produces some of the highest-quality ranchu in China. Others said it was not easy for ordinary visitors to get access or meet the breeder.
I didn’t know what I would find.
But this journey became much more than just a farm visit.
During my trip, I had the opportunity to meet Mr. Pan Guocheng, the founder of Pan’s Ranchu Farm, and spent more than three hours discussing ranchu breeding, selection standards, international export, and the future of this incredible goldfish variety.

First of all, I want to apologize for the long wait.
It has been almost two months since my last long-form video. This episode took much longer to complete than I expected because of work, getting sick, and the amount of footage I captured during my trip to Pan’s Ranchu Farm.
But I didn’t want to rush this video.
This visit was a very special experience for me, and I wanted to carefully edit and share the story, the farm, and the valuable knowledge I learned during my conversation with Mr. Pan.
This is only the beginning of the Pan’s Ranchu Farm series.
In the upcoming videos, I will continue sharing more details from this trip, including ranchu selection standards, breeding insights, my conversation with Mr. Pan, and the growth journey of the fish I brought home.
