My 90 yr old Mom & I stood in a long line awaiting embarkation. A cruise person spotted us & opened a gate which led us immediately to the front of the line. She admonished me for not presenting my Mom sooner saying never does such an elderly person ever need to wait to board! I didn't know at the time but certainly appreciated the courtesy!😊

We watched this video (on a similar one) in June, 2026, before our trip to Alaska, crossing into Canada. We carried a duffle bag full of all our medications and vitamins. It was a real pain to lug that 10-15 lb. bag along with our "carry ons". As it turned out, no one, NO ONE, even asked or looked into the bag much less check the names of the medications. We had the letter from our doctor that no one asked for either. It was an unnecessary hassle that we did because we were told how important it was to not get booted off a cruise.

Most people have fixed budgets. Not only seniors.

We have enjoyed 22 cruises all with prescriptions and never been flagged for them.

I went on a cruise 6 months ago and packed my medications in my hand luggage. They were all in a clear zip lock plastic bag, properly labeled just as I got them from the pharmacy. I did not declare any of them, no one asked me anything, nor were they confiscated.

This could be considered a 'mistake' for all passangers. Just as with your medications declaration - GET YOUR ALLERGIES ON RECORD! I am deathly allergic to aspirin and ibuprofen, these are 1st line treatments for blood pressure, heart and inflamation. I would definitely put that in my 'record', as well as my asthma and osteoarthritis. Diabetics, heart issues, blood pressure issues, all manner of allergies should be noted before you set foot on that cruise. Those who have had a scary call with an allergy to peanuts or such can swear by doing so.
